Family Office Senior Tax Accountant

The Tax Senior Associate reports to the Practice Leader and works closely with other Tax Associates in the firm. The position is responsible for the preparation of tax returns and work papers which include ensuring all federal and state income tax returns are prepared timely and accurately and in compliance with applicable laws. Work environment may require overtime to meet tax filing requirements. In addition the person will be responsible for preparing various investment analyses for clients. A part time situation will also be considered.

Job Duties

  • Tax return preparation including multi state preparation
  • Prepare individual, fiduciary (complex, grantor, simple and split- interest), gift, partnership and private foundation tax returns
  • Preparation of tax projections and related estimated payments
  • Analyze client information and offer recommendations for reducing client tax liabilities
  • Respond to IRS and state tax notices
  • Assist in preparation of our clients’ 1099 NEC & MISC, Household W-2’s, year-end tax information reporting
  • Prepare analysis of various investments
  • General accounting for client business’ to be used in preparing income tax returns, including preparation of trial balances and related adjusting journal entries

Education and Experience

  • CPA and MST is preferred
  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience in tax preparation required
  • Excellent knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations required


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in ProFx Tax; Quicken / QuickBooks and Microsoft Office familiarity highly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet stated deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced environment and exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information
