Glenview, Illinois (May 18, 2019) – Like baseball’s Opening Day, it happens every spring: Weiss & Company LLP has once again been recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work in Illinois” by the Daily Herald Business Ledger.
It was the eighth straight year Weiss made the list, ranking 14th among 30 small companies (15-99 employees) honored during an awards ceremony on May 9, 2019.
“Earning recognition as one of the state’s ‘Best Places to Work’ for eight years running is truly an honor,” said Weiss managing partner Dan Fortman. “It’s a reflection of our commitment to developing and retaining our most valuable resource: Our people.”
The strength of that commitment is evident in the wide range of benefits Weiss & Co. offers its staffers, including continuing education and development, a relaxed dress code, standing work stations, “5 Hour Fridays” in the summer, activities and meals during the hectic tax season, and time off to support a wide range of community service initiatives.
Weiss’s clients enjoy the same kind of treatment, Fortman pointed out. One example: “Charities of Your Choice,” a 2018 holiday fundraising effort that saw the company donate thousands of dollars to charitable organizations nominated by clients during Weiss’s 50th anniversary gala last September.
“It takes great clients to make any company a great place to work,” Fortman said. “That’s been a key part of our success since Day One.” It’s been working pretty well so far. Now in their 51st year, Weiss & Company LLP ranks among the most successful mid-sized full-service accounting firms in the Chicago area – and one of the happiest.
Best Places to Work in Illinois is promoted by the Daily Herald Business Ledger in partnership with the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago (HRMAC), the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, the Workforce Boards of Metropolitan Chicago, MRA-The Management Association, the Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce, and Best Companies Group.
