Four the Future: Weiss Announces Two New Staff Promotions and Two New Hires

As part of its ongoing commitment to delivering service excellence, Weiss & Company LLP is proud to announce several personnel moves at the firm.

Nousheen Ali Merchant has been promoted from associate to senior in our growing tax department. Since joining Weiss in 2025, Nousheen has delivered consistent results for every client she serves. She holds a Master of Accountancy degree from Northern Illinois University.

Ian Livingston has been promoted from senior to supervisor in the firm’s audit and assurance department. Ian joined Weiss in 2020 and provides assurance, consulting and tax services to clients for a variety of industries including manufacturing, professional services, and not-for-profit entities. He holds a Master of Science in Accounting from Northern Illinois University.

Managing Partner Dan Fortman acknowledged the success of both Nousheen and Ian, “We’re continuously investing in our people, not just with training but with opportunities to learn and grow with our partners and with our clients. Ian and Nousheen have made a fantastic impact on our firm and their contributions are being recognized and rewarded as they should be. We’re looking forward to their continued growth and success.”

In addition to these two key promotions, we have also added two new members to the Weiss team. Raffaella Caputi has been hired as our new operations manager and brings years or proven experience to the role. She’s also a notary and fluent in Italian.

Ellen Brodd has joined Weiss after graduating from Augustana College with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Business Analytics. As part of our audit department, she will be assisting with audits, reviews, and compilations. She is actively studying for her CPA exam.

“We are always looking to add talented professionals to our team,” Talent Acquisition Manager Kari Thompson stated. “Raffaella Caputi is someone who will help ensure our operations keep pace with the rapid changes taking place in our industry and Ellen is a great addition to our audit group. I think they’re both going to make a mark on the firm.”
