Reminder: 2022 Cook County Property Tax Payments Due December 30, 2022

Due to complications associated with the upgrading of computer systems, the mailing of second-installment property tax bills for Cook County, IL has been delayed. If you own property in Cook County, please be aware that second-installment payments are still due by December 30th, 2022, regardless of whether you have received an actual bill via physical mail.

The deadline is unchanged, despite the mailing delay, as filing by the end of the year is necessary to permit property owners to deduct tax payments when preparing their 2022 income tax return.

You can review your bill online at the website of the Cook County Treasurer’s Office at www.cookcountytreasurer.com. The site provides a tool that will permit you to look up your bill using either the property addres, or your tax PIN number. Alternatively, you can contact the Treasurer’s Office directly at 312-443-5100.

As your trusted tax advisor, Weiss & Company LLP is ready to provide you with the most current advice on preparing and submitting payments for outstanding property taxes. Should you have any questions, we encourage you to reach out to your tax professional.
