Weiss Announces Four Tax Department Promotions

Weiss & Company LLP is pleased to announce four promotions within the Tax Department. Promoted associates include Masarrah Alsagher, Grace Piotrowski, Matthew Doetsch and Shaz Shah.

Masarrah Alsagher was promoted from Associate to Senior. Masarrah started with Weiss as an intern while a student at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She joined Weiss in January 2022 right after graduation. She was a key contributor to a variety of client assignments while pursuing her CPA, which she attained within her first two years at Weiss. Masarrah is goal-oriented and prioritizes her responsibilities. She delivers great service to her clients and steps up to own the client engagement.

Grace Piotrowski was promoted from Senior to Supervisor. Grace joined Weiss in July 2022 seeking to broaden her accounting experience and become more of a generalist. Since joining, she has flourished at the Firm. Grace passed her CPA on the first try in December 2022. She manages several client accounts and personal returns, helps senior management with certain tasks and leads a variety of onboarding activities for new employees. She is a real connector at Weiss and seems to know just about everyone. Clients and colleagues alike appreciate that Grace is personable and easy-to-talk to.

Matthew Doetsch was promoted from Senior to Supervisor. Matthew first joined Weiss as an intern while a student at Northern Illinois University. He joined Weiss after graduation. His experience includes accounting services, tax and consulting services. Many of his clients are within the real estate industry. He’s known around the office as a Quickbooks guru and is always readily available to answer questions from interns and new hires. He’s currently studying for his CPA.

Shaz Shah was promoted from Senior to Supervisor, his second promotion since joining the firm in July 2020. He works within the accounting & advisory and tax departments where he provides services to clients in a variety of industries and deals directly with Weiss partners. Shaz is known for being extremely responsive to clients and doing whatever is needed to help them. He’s currently pursuing a Master of Accounting Services degree and intends to follow up with studying for his CPA.
